I've got something stuck on the inside of rim on my wheel. I can hear it drop on every rotation as the wheel spins slowly (which is driving me insane while riding). I've taken the tyre and tape off and have narrowed down the area that it's coming from but don't have a clue how to get whatever is stuck out. I've tried all sort of shaking etc but no luck. Any ideas?

Remove the spoke in the right area then re-shake?

I had a similar issue to this and found it to be a loose balancing weight, it was not moving around, but "clicking" every revolution. I sorted it with several drops of superglue. If yours sounds very light and metalic, it could be manufacturing swarf. Your only hope would be to work it around to the valve hole and hope you could get it out there.
Good luck!Posted 2 years ago # -
I have the same clicking problem with my Mavic 721/521. Trying to rattle it out does nothing. I think it's the balancing weight (which I didn't even know existed before sparsons post!), as it's right opposite the valve hole, is that where they usually are?

could be a bit of metal from where the rim is pinned/welded they quite often fall off after a while if not straight away, drove me nuts on one set of wheels but nothing you can do about except ride faster!

Could be an old nipple if it has had a spoke replaced. As Daffy says, remove the spoke nearest the area and you should be a ble to get it (whatever it is).

Its a bit of something near where they weld the rim. Easily fixed by dropping some superglue through a spoke hole near the bit of something.
