They are running a poll for your favourite Blue Peter presenter and Richard Bacon is currently running second.

Presumably, if Richard Bacon wins it, they will have to declare Sir David Attenborough the country’s favourite Blue Peter presenter of all time??

You could have said Konnie Huq is number one, now I’ve gone and wasted my ironic vote on Richard Bacon 👿

That Charlie Brooker is a right lucky barsteward. My vote is clearly not necessary.

Has to be the late Caron Keating, i was a young teenager in the late 80’s when she hosted the program and her legs and accent kept me transfixed for at least 90 seconds each afternoon

That’s a very, erm, touching tribute.

I met John Noakes once back in 2002 at a book launch of ‘The Villain’ (on the life of Don Whillans) written by Jim Perrin and hosted at the Waterstones store in Manchester. He was also there with Chris Bonnington and Joe Brown. It was like all my Christmases had come at once.

I once bumped into Don Whillans in the Vaynol and he didn’t hit me.

Janet Ellis. I wanted to hold her hand going to the shops.

John Noakes,or Peter Duncan, thought the latter was good, when he went off grid with that old ex SAS geezer, can’t remember his name.

    Hmm…

    1) Diane-Louise Jordan
    2) Matt Baker
    3) Helen Skelton

The older crew were ace, no doubt, but quite staid and a little dull. By the time the 90’s hit the presenters became more engaging and personable, the Beeb then chose some very strong moral fibre presenters for kids to look up to.

    Fabulous programme.

I’ve no idea who most of these are!!!
Are the presenters of Blue Peter not still John Noakes, Peter Purves, Lesley Judd and Val Singleton, plus Shep and Petra?

    That clip was very “educational”.

All got a bit late night on Channel 5 by the end of it.

Maybe I cast my vote too hastily.

    Has to be John Noakes.

But people will probably vote for the presenter in their youth.

John Noakes and Shep, classic stuff.

shallow people will vote for the presenter from their youth who they fancied . So I am voting for Janet Ellis. I have also seen her do a bit of Shakespeare and she was very good too.

Noakes, Huq and Ellis, in that order.

I can still remember Noakes crashing in the bobsleigh, visiting Ellis to be filmed in hospital for the birth. Huq had the staying power.

    It won’t be Sundin.
