It was very foggy on the drive in this morning, so I was concentrating on driving, but did I hear James Naughtie refer to Jeremy Hunt as Jeremy C U Next Tuesday? (Followed by a ‘coughing fit’ and very obvious attempts not to laugh.)

yeah I heard that this morning. He could barely get through the news intro, poor chap.

I heard it and heard a few minutes later the apology. twas funny.

Typically the “offended” brigade wasted no time 🙄

He was right though.

Well the Guardian has it now, and I imagine the Daily Mail etc will be calling for the BBC to be axed shortly.

I did like this tho….

They have already (deliberately, to illustrate a point) repeated this spoonerism in ‘Start The Week’. Smooth! 😆

Am I right in thinking there is no watershed on the radio anyway?
I’ve certainly heard the odd play with some choice words in the middle of the day.

The Guardian article is good because their audio link covers the following seconds in which Mr Naughtie tries to suppress his laughter, which imo, is even funnier 😀

To be fair, I would struggle to say “master of the west Kent hunt” quickly.

I had a mate at school called James Hunt, and if anyone took him for an idiot his standard response was
“my name’s Hunt, not ****”.

Laughed me socks off! Fortunately kids didn’t hear and I didn’t explain why I was so amused. 😆 His apology was entertaining too.
