Got some Low-Friction wiper seals from TF Tuned and just refreshing an old Recon fork. Pushing the seals in (I don’t have any special tool), and got these seals in as far as possible, but the top edge is not flush/flat with the top of the rim. Rockshox seals go flush, but I’m wonder if these are not supposed to, or have I just still not got it in far enough.

Tried a plastic cap I found that’s about the size of a seal press tool and rubber malleted it but it’s not going any further. There’s about 1mm protruding.

Hmm. I couldn’t get them any further in no matter what. Only about 1mm exposed, if that. The top rim seems thicker than the RS seals. Ah well, it’s short term until I get new forks for the hard tail anyway. Think the bushings on them are shot anyway.
