OK, perhaps a long shot, but looking for an out of the way quiet family friendly campsite in the Lakes for June half term (first week of June), perhaps west lakes, just to avoid the crowds, if possible!

I’m sure this came up recently, worth searching.

It’s not west, but what about Hawkshead? The Croft is nice.

Try Turner Hall Farm in Duddon Valley. Brilliant little campsite.

Turner Hall Farm is also pretty much under Walna Scar if you’re taking your bike.

Whatever you do, don’t go here! Unless you like 1970’s style working men’s clubs in the North East but with kids running riot as well.

Nice one! Loads to go on there, thanks. Also looking at “The Quiet Site” near Ullswater.

Wray Castle NT Campsite very quite with lots of riding walking nearby!

We stayed at the Quiet site years ago. To be fair it was quite, even when full. There’s a pub on site too. Strange dusty sort of pub with real ale.

It’s not west but I’d suggest Low Wray. Very tranquil, great location. The only thing that disturbed us was a family of ducks one morning quacking outside the tent. 🙂

The only downside is you can’t book so have to get there early.

Scotgate near Keswick is spot on for families, and even wifi in shop/cafe on site and superb toilet block.

Would agree with that for sure. Have been going there for over 30 years and I love the place.
They have made loads of improvements over the last few years and its now a great site.
    (it was always very good)

Very family friendly “busy but quiet” kind of place.

Try Eskdale as it tends to be quiet and has some decent camp sites.

The camping and caravaning club site at Boot would fit that description. Not too big so never really busy, decent facilities and only a 5 min walk from 2 pubs.

Another decent quiet little campsite in Eskdale is the Old Post Office campsite. By a river and a pub – facilities aren’t as good but are passable (it’s important for my wife).

Low Wray has booking available on the NT campsite page. On RHS of the page.
