I’ve got a recumbent trike I’m going to sell, but before I post up an ad, I was wondering if anyone has any experience posting such a cumbersome beast.

Will normal parcel companies handle it, or is it a pallet job?

If you can box it I sent one with Paisley freight cost £34 as the went on box dimensions

Most couriers are becoming a right PITA when it comes to posting bikes and even frames. Anything over 100cm is now an abnormal parcel, whatever the weight.

Unless you live somewhere really remote, it’s quite likely that the buyer would prefer to collect.
    (What make is it?)

    Ooh, wotcha got?

I use Fedex whenever I ship trikes. Depending on whether they want to be arsey, it’s either £10 or £60ish -depends on whether they volume it up. But they’ve never damaged or lost anything.

    Thanks for the suggestions

Sorry to lower the tone among enthusiasts… it’s an adult KMX Kart, though I have some hope of redemption as it’s in pristine condition.

I do live somewhere fairly remote in the depths of Wales, so worth posting if it’ll help get a better price.
