Find it strange that reports are sketchy and that the gunman/gunmen haven’t been apprehended…. Worrying.

3 suspects, still at large, armed with Langwaffen (long rifles).
3 confirmed dead with a further 3 unconfirmed, not 15.
Public transport in the area shut down.
Multiple reports suggest at least one attacker shouted “**** foreigners”.

@ flying ox…. The shopping centre is in a more “bunt”, or colourful, area. More foreigners/Muslims in the north of Munich around Milbertshofen, Hasenbergl, and Moosach. Would surprise me if a Islamic terrorist went shooting in an area with a big % of Muslims.

It was reported one of the killers shot himself, if that’s true it would suggest to me this was not an Islamist incident but terrorism of another sort

Lets not forget that we live in a good world with good people, yes there are evil people doing unspeakable things but they must not deter the rest of us. It’s easy to get depressed and harbour hate but that is what they want.

I say this after spending last weekend(Nice attack) with my mum who is 70. She has become very anxious, not for her own safety but for everything bad she see’s on the news. It’s easy to forget the good when the media pushes the bad so much.

Just my thoughts.

Good posts seavers. I have just found out from a close friend originally from Munich that her family are ok but many will be worried. People are jumping to conclusions about the attackers very quickly.

thanks guys… i should be safe enough. even though i am in the south of Munich, about 2km from the centre, it feels me leaving kinda cold knowing there are three gunmen on the loose… and i’m in a ground floor flat. might close the windows tonight.

oddly, i don’t know many people around that area, but a friend told us her mate was there just 30 mins before it went bang.

Shooter was apparently an 18 yo German-Iranian. An eye witness told CNN that he shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he shot people in McDonalds.

@alpin yes we had that on the news, indeed hats off to the resident for engaging with the guy.

It’s always interesting to me how different news picks up different things – we see it all the time with French and UK news – we had the suicide report hours before the German police confirmed it officially.

I hope the city can come to terms with the incident, news reports are of children shot in McDonalds. Very sad

Agreed, junky… German Media seems reluctant to confirm things despite lots of foreign news outlets reporting the gunman having shot himself in the head hours before whilst the police were still looking for three gunmen.

Kinda happy knowing it was one lone nutter and not a group attack. Just a shame that the wicker managed to kill himself before the police got to him…

The only reason you do these things is for “glory”. Where is the glory in shooting children?
