£100 a month into a long-term saving account. Any money from grandparents etc goes into another saving account and is used for holidays, books and stuff. She also gets £10 a week from me – but that has to pay for a horse riding lesson and for juice etc. when she is at the Riding for the Disabled Association 3 or 4 days a week.

    Thanks all!
So TJ…just how old are you exactly? 😉 Really glad to hear you got pocket money before hitting your century!!!

Think I may well start the child bank account and put some money in every month. If she has to actually go and get it out herself she may think twice about blowing it on rubbish!! There again, she may not…

Never used to get pocket money. Things like cds and cinema etc used to get paid from birthday and christmas money.

Used to get a pound a day for dinner money in secondary school, eating cheese, rice and salad cream everyday for lunch meant I could save 3.75 a week – woo hoo!
