Local shop has them on offer for 60 quid. Are they worth getting for downhill duties? How common are back injuries of the type spine protectors will protect against? I often think that I would rather have protection for shoulders and hips as these as the areas that always seem to get hurt with me.

POC spine protector, worth getting?

I had a full Dianese top with a back protector on last year but one at Fort bill. Went over the bars and landed on the corner of a large rock.
Marked the back protector but no damage to me (except pride)
Worth having in my opinion. But having broke my back twice Karting I am always a little wary about it.
and to finish, £60 seems very cheap what is the shop and where is it?
