I’d like to get a small stove that will fit in a rucksack for taking to the beach for occasional luxury fry ups. I figured this was quite an STW thing so what would you recommend? Not looking to spend loads. Thanks!

Trangia 27 would be my choice http://www.trangia.se/english/2913.trangia_stoves.html

Simple, reliable, durable. Loved mine for 15 odd years now.

I bought one of these for just over three quid, and it’s superb. Ideal for the beach cos if sand/salt wreck it you can just buy another for three quarters of FA.

Well, if your going for wood burning, just as well go for a wood burning stove

£4 (in sale at Sainsbury’s) portable bucket BBQ works brilliantly for us.

If there is driftwood then the biolite stove is good. I have one and as a stove it’s pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestions, some good ideas here. Although I don’t think my man skills are good enough to rely on getting a wood burner going!
