    Hi All,

For fitness & interest I’d like to get a bike computer. I do not want to use an application on my Torch though because the likes of Endemondo etc. are unreliable.

I think that I need a computer that is wireless, has altitude, easy to mount, tough, good looking, backlit & waterproof.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance. 😉

Although not backlit, for fitness / training I,ve been using a forerunner 305 this year as it was the cheapest decent Garmin, easy enough to mount and works ok & you can access Garmin connect. Probably not up to navigating from, if that is a requirment for you.

@kilo: Thanks for the advice – I do not need to navigate though. I just ‘need’ the requirements previously listed, don’t think I missed anything but I may be swayed by the unknown… 😉

    The 305 isn’t a navigational thing
You could use it for that if you were stuck though

Perfect for your requirements – and, IIRC is indeed backlit

besides backlit and water proof (ish) the VDO 1.0+ is very good and fits the bill. I have two. One broke recently as i washed my bike upside down with it on, then had to dry it out in the airing cupboard for 2 days. 😀 it now works.

I should add that the altitude thing is excellent, and very very accurate
