    Hi,

Long time lurker on the site but 1st time poster.

Work has just opened up the ride2work scheme for this year and i can’t decide between these bikes.

Im looking for a road based hybrid for commuting that can also be taken on occasional 50-70km weekend rides and carry a rear child seat now and again, having had drop bars on my last 2 bikes i only use them when going downhill so i can grab the brakes and dont feel comfortable on them, hence the hybrid.

The Hoy’s have higher specs but im not sure if its worth the extra £250-£350 over the neon. I also dont know enough about 1x to decide which would be best. Im guessing 1x is lighter but with bigger gaps in the gears? My last bike was 50/34 11-28 and that was fine for me.

Anyone ridden them, which would you go for?

Anything else to consider around the £1000 mark (at Evans)?

    Many thanks for your help

I’ve got an old Shizuoka that I bought 2nd for commuting. It’s an ok bike, but the head angle and fork make for a steep/nervous front end. The frame is pleasant enough o ride. But I’d probably just buy the pinnacle
