Does anyone know if there is a mainly offroad way of linking the two up? got a load of mates coming over next weekend and need a long ride out and wanted somehthing different from CyB or Llandegla.

    thanks in advance

According to my mates from the area it’s not worth doing as its a rubbish link, there far better ways of extending the Marin apparently

There’s barely any offroad on the Marin trail as it is.

Long fireroad climb, down a short bit of singletrack, back up a fireroad, around a fireroad, down a fireroad, a hundred yards of singletrack, fireroad, tiny bit of singletrack, long fireroad climb, long fireroad descent, up a road, then intoa firest, carry bike up steps, loads more fireroad with occasional short singletrack bursts, still more fireroad, and then a brilliant descent at the very end.

But apart from that descent, which you can access from about a quarter of the way up the first climb, it’s a waste of time.

That describes pretty much any English or welsh trail centre!

Not at all – have no issue with fireroad climbs, if there’s singletrack descents as a payoff – but there’s precious little of it on the Marin, and there’s a massive fireroad descent in the middle of it.

I’ve done the marin before and it didn’t make me not want to go back. Llandegla on the other hand….

You forgot the excellent rocky section in the middle.
And the fact that taken as a whole, it’s a superb afternoon’s fun.

The Matin is what it is, the first Uk trail centre, trail building has moved on a long way, CyB has all been rebuilt, theres hardly any of the original stuff left. But the Marin is pretty much unchanged. So take it for what it is…a nice trip out.
