    Tragic case here. The article sounds pretty biased against the cyclist – presumably what he posted ‘on the internet’ will also be the basis of his defence, so not sure why it’s being made to sound so controversial. Not having a front brake is clearly daft and regardless of how well he could skid-stop, I would have thought his braking distance would be shorter with a front brake. There must be hundreds of cases of pedestrians stepping out in front of cyclists every year though resulting in injuries where the cyclist is in no way at fault – it’s happened to me before – and the way this is being presented makes it seem like just another anti-cyclist story. I’ve not seen the cctv footage (and nor do I want to) so it’s possible he’s entirely at fault. Tricky one for the jury unless the video evidence makes it very clear cut.
