   Right I have a very old pug lying around that I want to use as fixie, so the SO can use mine as rubbish standard road bike.
   I though I would be able to just screw in my BB, but no, so I have dismantled the crank from the old bike and remove the pedals.

   Pedal thread is however a bit different, the size of the hole is the same, but I can really screw in modern pedals.

   Is it fixable? I have the tools to "thread" a hole, anyone know what number I need for new pedals?

   I've had this before when converting old ,as in pre 70's bikes to fixed.
   plenty of lube,a very good pedal spanner,usually 15 mm,but not always,take your time,it will get hot,but they will go into the cranks.
   of course,if you've got the correct L and R pedal thread taps,then you're laffin,ay ya

   Thread don't look massively different thought. Would you use oil or grease...?

   well i got both
   grease will save me the trouble to unscrew in order to grease the thread once it's been broke in.
   So grease it is i'll let you know how it worked.
