I'm giving my brother's old Hardrock a makeover at the moment and have run into difficulties with the pedals.

The pedals are ancient Wellgo, model unknown. However, there is no room for a pedal wrench and there appears to be no allen key option either.

There are some plastic caps on the outside edge over the axle, but they don't want to budge so I can't see what's under there.

Anyone have any ideas for removing them?

Right now I'm considering an angle grinder!

is there two flats on the inside, some wont take a normal spanner cos there too wide, you may need a thin pedal spanner which is thin like a cone spanner but still 15mm, not too dear, lbs or halfords sell them

I guess there is no hex on the inside? Long shot – sounds like khani has experience with those pedals 🙂

2 cone spanners usually does it. Just one will get wrecked if the pedal is on tight.
