So- who's going to be enjoying the seven thousand metres of descending, via the saucisson, vin et fromage rest stops this year?

Am I getting a little bit excited? OH YES!

Adam – let's do the t-shirts. Please can we have a pic of the kebab featured somewhere though?

Ooops- missed this bit – preferebly Dave scoffing his second, in black and white, or maybe the unfurled kebab – see linky here:

Thinking kebab tomfoolery may get us some freebies at Turkish Delight. Now that's what I call proper sponsorship….

The PPdS is more XC than the Mega so Pikes will do fine – personally I'm running 36's though.

WEHEY! Only a working week to go!

Anyone got any thoughts on tyre choice? It's been raining in Chamonix all weekend and apparently dropped to 8 degrees with snow at 1700m. Not sure of the weather in the Porte Du Soleil so far. If it's been wet though something like a Swamp Thing might be needed.

Starting from Champousin or Les Crosets this year as we couldn't get in anywhere else. Have to drive from Chamonix on the day so will have to be on the road by 5.30am!

OK so all the trails in question are technically quite easy. There is nothing that you can't easily roll down or find an alternative easy line. Where there are more technical sections the track is quite wide so you can pick a quieter/easier line.

The views are simply amazing; I mean just breathtaking. You are always gaining altitude using the lifts although there is some pedalling it's nothing a novice couldn't handle.

The atmosphere is relaxed, probably around 80% of the people taking part are on XC/Trail/Am bikes (and a large number of those will be on £100 Halfords specials!) It's not even remotely a race although there will be faster riders around who won't want to get held up but it's easy to pass people.

It's a great way to see all of the region, take in the best bits and have fun. Not sure what else you'd need to sell it to her?

if the weathers any good (to put your mind at rest the current forecast is looking promising – certainly not the snow that made the Freeraid at 2Alpes much fun :))

around 80% of the people are off this forum
still good fun going sideways round flat corners past jeyboys (will it be you?) on the fast descent to morzine

Dasnut I'll be the one racing you mate. Mate and I have a competition to see if we can ride the whole day without being overtaken. Haven't managed it yet but we got down to just one time the year before last. Maybe that was you? 😉
