Anyone doing the Paris-Roubaix Sportive http://www.vc-roubaix-cyclo.fr/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=82&Itemid=13 in a couple of weeks time?

If so, what bike will you be using? I have a choice of the following:

    – IF Planet X with Landcruisers
    – Colnago cross bike (ex Rabobank team bike ridden by Marcel Dujin – would be cool but I've already had the steel fork straightened a little)
    – Raleigh 531c Panasonic with Nuovo Record

I'm tempted by the Raleigh and, particularly, the Colnago as it would be good to compete in style but the IF is probably the wise choice.

Anyway, if you're going, as it says on the site above, "good luke"!

Yep, I'm doing it. I'm using my summer hack bike, a Pinnacle Team RR. I've used it for the Ronde a couple of times now and with my Campy Scirroco wheels it was remarkably comfey on the cobbles and that was with 23mm pro race tyres. So just going to change the tyres for vittoria pave's just for an extra bit of grip in case it's wet. (The flanders cobbles were extremely slippery this year). Last time I did roubaix I used a pair of fat Specialised anti puncture efforts and they were as supple as a brick!
I'll also be using a camelback as I've seen too many bottles still attached to their cages lying at the side of the pave. That said you will always see plenty of riders on their top spec race bikes!
