Sunday.. wifes birthday, daughter and "son in law" over for lunch, and youngest girl going back to Uni..
My father(76)decides to go "walk about" at 3pm onto the lower slopes of the very snowy Q/tox Hills.
3Hrs later and still not home, and a very annxious Mum is on the phone "thinking the worst" !!!
Police found him an hour later,wandering in the dark, very very cold and even more upset coz he got lost. He'd walked up to an area of woods and old quarries near the village(about 3mls away), hadn't taken his phone or tablets coz he wasn't going to be out for long..
Boy, did he get a bollicking from Mum when he got home, just like the ones he used to give me !!!
So it's a BIG thanx to the Mr Plods in their Merc ML's for going out into the snow choked lanes around the village to look for the "old Bugger".
The outcome could have been so different…
