I need to make an old scott alu hardtail frame (nothing special at all), look even less special for leaving at the station. Can I just hamerite over the top of what I assume is some sort of lacquer? I can't really be arsed to rub the whole thing down first.

Tape, stickers and old inner tube?

Though I'd imagine if you are trying to make it look sht then hammerite over lacquer would be a good place to start!
