How do those big old Mountain Kings go? (2.4?) Will they run on Crests tubeless?

You know that bikes can’t type don’t you? They really are just inanimate objects…

Even if they could type, I don’t think they can read 🙂

They can read all right, don’t doubt it. Mine is halfway through War and Peace at the moment and has a thing for 21st Century Scottish poetry, but his powers of self expression are quite limited and usually stop at throwing me into the shrubbery when grumpy.

Always remember the MCN headline in the 70s regarding Barry Sheene going back to Suzuki.
“Barry’s Suzuki talks.” So maybe a Swift can read.

Not my Swift, but I run a 2.4 MK tubeless on a Crest front wheel on my main bike – 140mm full suss around Datmoor, Quantocks etc. Never had a problem with rolling off or burping etc. Would have the same at the back if it fitted my frame but use a 2.25 Fat Albert, as it were.

    Bike-discount.de have 2.4 MK’s for £10.78 each.
Thats a lot of tyre for the money.
Might grab a pair just as spares….

How do you reckon they would shape up against Hans Dampfs 29×2.35?

I like the volume of the HDs I have (it’s on a rigid bike) but I’d trade a bit of grip for something lighter & faster.

Ah, good point, was forgetting about the Swift. My bike is old skool, so only 26″…

Conti MK 2.4’s are a pretty long way from 2.4 – not that they are bad tyres.

Taki FWIW I think those are the ‘Mk 1’, hence probably the price.

    Compare the pic with http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/en/continental/bicycle/themes/mtb/AllMountain/MountainKingII/MountainKing_en.html
