I’ve had them apart cleaned them out, changed the seals and am now doing them back up.

How do I stop the internal gubbins rotating so that I can do the nuts back up?

Every time I turn the foot nuts on either side up the threaded posts start rotating as soon as there’s any torque going through them.

Compress the fork while you tighten the nuts. That’ll engage the tapers on the bottom of the piston rods into the taper in the base of the legs and should stop them rotating.

Well it works on RC40’s anyway!

thanks tandemwarriors – I tried that and it was better but still have problem that as soon as the nut gets tight the cones rotate. Undoing them to have another go then becomes difficult as they rotate then too. Also tried disasembly and drying the cones (even put a bit of fine grade wet and dry across them to try and increase stiction).

Will be speaking to fork English today with a view to getting someone who knows what they’re doing to sort it out…
