Okey dokey…I've got RC-7 sitting in a grease gun (for some circa-p97 RC36s), I've got some Manitous that allegedly should use Prep-M (calcium based, also by Motorex), or I could use the Motorex 2000 stuff (also calcium based).
Anyone happen to know if RC-7 is calcium based ? (ie water resistant), or know if the 2000 stuff is reasonably comparable to the other two ?- it's about 18 quid for 850g (vs 7 quid for 130g of RC7, or about 11 for 180g of Prep-M). Not that I'm likely to get through it in a hurry, last time I serviced the Paces I didn't use that much..
Then again, I've a pot of Castrol CL (also calcium-based), tho' IIRC it seems a bit thicker than RC7, but I've no idea if it's likely to have any nasty effects on seals.
Answers on a postcard…
