Basically missus came in to find the gas oven on fire. Now at first she did open the door and made it worse but she launched the tray outside to burn out and the grease inside the oven eventually went out after shutting the door.

Now it doesn’t seem to want to ignite. Ovens a flavel Gas one. Hob and grill work fine still. Will it just need a good clean and if so with what? Never had a gas oven so new to me.

Could have mullered anything inside there. Most ovens have a flame failure device which shuts the gas off if it doesn’t detect a flame. If that’s gone you need a new one. Get a gas safe registered guy in to look at it and make sure he has his ticket for cookers.

Could be just soot on the ignition electrode or where it arcs to.

I’d give it a good clean up so you can see everything and then try. At very least it will be easier for the repair person to fix.
