My roadbike has a shimano 10speed chain. Will I be ok using a SRAM 10 speed quick link on it? I do just that on my XC 9 speed mtb chains as shimano chains are cheaper and the SRAM link is fine on them.

Is there any difference with 10 speed road stuff?

    Thank You!

Shimano and SRAM 10 speed chains are interchangable so I can’t see there being a problem running a Shimano chain with a Sram link. Like you say 9 speed is no problem.

Lots of pros teams did (maybe still do) run shimano 10spd chains with SRAM powerlinks in. Shouldn’t be an issue.

No, SRAM 10sp powerlinks do not work with Shimano 10sp chains also SRAM 10sp powerlinks are not re-usable.

KMC do a 10sp Shimano re-usable link I use them and they work well.

I hadn’t heard about this before, but SRAM recommend using a new powerlink each time the link is remover….

I should clarify, the SRAM 10 speed link is a powerlock link and is not designed to come apart again.

And as I’ve said above, they do not work with shimano chains.

KMC is what you are looking for.
