    Hey guys,

just wondering which I should get. I have an old Specialised Pitch, which is pretty pimped out. It has 150mm travel all round and 26″ wheels.

I will be keeping the pitch as I still love the thing and is fun round some local forest trails and XC stuff in the South downs. Would just like a bike that I can take to Wales and the occasional trip to the Alps.

Now looking at it on paper the 5 has less travel all round than the alpine and the pitch. Though it does have bigger wheels. I fancy the Alpine really, but wondered what people thought?

Again, the new bike is mainly for weekends away so don’t need it to feel amazing in little wood trials.

Probably answered my own question, but would like something a little bigger than the pitch, but not too silly. there is an extra 10mm or travel all round compared to the pitch and it has bigger wheels so thinking the Alpine should fit the bill?

    Thanks

    Rob

Have you tried either? They will feel very different suspension wise to a pitch (not saying good or bad) so it’s worth seeing what you think before committing.

As for the alps it all depends where you go, if it’s the park style Dh tracks then both will probably be fine but not as nice as a proper big bike, if it’s the more singletrack stuff then there isn’t much harder than anything in the UK mountains.

Whats your budget, lots of good bikes around there, on the stick to what you know thing some of the bigger specs will fit the bill very nicely and at a very tidy price (obviously matching hose colours would be extra)
