    Help please.

My step father has a Font writer personnel word processor. He has finally bought a lap top but he has 100s of poems and most of a book he has written saved on floppy disks.

On his laptop he is now using word pad to type and edit. When you load from a floppy disk each file loads with

    YSCFWS -187FE-750 SHARP
    Fontwriter70000000UKoWP0Ver.1.10Ver.1.10Ver1.10000000000

The 0s are more like rectangles than 0s and there are around 15 lines of them then the text in the file and 10 more lines of these 0s/rectangles.

What software can I buy for him that will open up the files correctly. I don’t want to open up each file and delete the extra bits as it will take days.
