    A lift this size is alway a contract lift

    no its not, neither in UK or USA. Ive managed much bigger cranes / lifts myself.

    First thing I can see is that the crane was in the wrong position making the out riggers ineffective

    no its not
    would lift through 360 degrees anyway

    tell you what though, the neighbours garden furniture must be visable from space!

    Why? As far as I can see it’s on level hard standing with no visible underground or over ground services. It just tried to lift to a heavy load over that sort of radius.
