Back in the day, when I actually did stuff rather than just playing on the on the internet, my wife and cycled the South Island of NZ

One afternoon we cycled with a German guy who was really heavily laden compared to us. We had 2 biggish panniers each, he had 4 and a handle bar bad.

At the end of the we pulled into town. I said “left here for the campsite”, he said “See you later I’m going into town to look for a hostel, I don’t have a tent”

That left us scratching our heads as what he filled all the bags with….

I actually follow the guy on Instagram – in his defense, he’s been touring around the whole of Europe for most of the winter, taking photos and blogging on the way. It’s really more like a full touring load than a fast and light setup, just he’s using bikepacking bags – would probably look a lot more normal with racks and panniers.

Still more than I would ever want to carry though!

Not mine shermer. George posted it up on the Bearbones forum and I though it was too good not to share!
