Aye would appear Matt is a pretty switched on "Parent"...
And now a properly deverstated one no doubt.

Everyone show their respects to bert! He doesn't want flowers - he wants big juicy bones & doggy treats........ RIP BERT x

Sorry to hear that. As above, 18 years is a good innings. Nothing worse than losing your best friend ever.
Posted 2 years ago # -
My heart sank when i saw that pic
Really gutted for you guys, nothing worse than loosing your best friend.

Woof..

Poor Bert... I remember him from Chelmer Cycles many years ago.
Lovely little chap

How sad.
GRRR.I.P Bert.Look up my pal Fatty McTavish, (Westie-Cross, checked in about 15 months ago).
He'll see you right.Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm not to proud to admit that i can see this becoming a tear jerker
Posted 2 years ago # -
RIP Bert.. remember all the good times.
still miss our old dog chip and he's been gone 17 months
Posted 2 years ago # -
You never stop missing them but it does get easier. As times passes, you tend to remember more of the happier times without things welling up quite so much. I'll never forget the real Onza dog who I lost 5 years ago. (5 years? seems like yesterday)

RIP, Bert

Our Bingo eats a strict diet with lots of veg etc, is very lean (almost zero stomach) and well muscled compared to almost every Westie I've ever seen.
A real character to boot. I dread the day hes no longer with us.

If it's right that Bert has left us then my condolences to Matt, I know he will take it hard.
Posted 2 years ago # -
He was a great little dog a real little character.
Dogs are great bring so much, it's awful when their time comes though. Only 6 months since I lost my Lab she was a real softie. For the first time in 37 years I have a home with no dog, it's very odd.

Sam is there too -I feel for you dude, no pain greater than when your dog dies
Posted 2 years ago # -
R.I.P. Bert, its always hard to loose a dog, even if they have had such a good innings.
Posted 2 years ago # -
We lost our two jack russels down a sandy rabbit warren.
How they would have wanted to go I suppose......
Posted 2 years ago # -
You bastids have made me go and cry now. Dread the day one of our two go to the eternal rabbit chase in the sky
Bert looked like a right character judging by that photo.
Thoughts with you Matt, remember the good times.

Poor Bert!! But 18, that was a good age!
Matt, my condolences

Sorry? FACK Lost for words over, well. ****.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Three very good friends of mine have been Jack Russels. They can be complete nutters, and occassional gross liabilities, but they are very good company. Bless!

Hello
Cheers all- Thanks for the kind words. Bert was super old and was incontinent (well couldn't differentiate between outside and inside anyway) had been repeatedly falling down the stairs at home-and generally not very comfortable mentally (he kept "loosing" me while I was in the same room) He was physically pretty good when he went, to the point he was eaing biscuits at the vets `and it was very quick -I would like that option for myself.
So i'm sad but relieved really if I was Honest as well.

He was a handsome little f**ker as well ;]
cheers
Matt

I'm feeling your hurt guys
I fear I'm going to have to make a similar decision tomorrow with my friend, dogs don't live long enough.....
Posted 2 years ago # -

Still miss him now but have a great Pic of him that always makes me simle. All the best mate.
