    Top work by the trailbuilders that they’ve built the equivalent of Innerleithen Red within the flattest county in the country.
    FWIW Inners Red is just under 12 miles and about 1900 ft

    Dunno if you’re being sarcastic or not, but 5 laps of the course for the NPS in 2013 was 14.5 miles and 3100ft of climbing, so quite a bit hillier than Innerleithen Red… You don’t need altitude to do elevation. There’s 574ft per lap, Dougal’s link isn’t quite the whole thing. Try this.

    I’m borrowing that for next time someone asks if the Gorricks are flat.

    Going further – it’s not even total climbing that tells the story, a lot of the climbs are obstacled – rock gardens, little step ups, etc. that require a bit of a whack to get up. It’s not sit and spin climbing. 574 feet in a 2.9 mile lap isn’t the same as a 574 foot gradual climb over 2.9 miles (= 3.7% gradient).
