Anyone know the best place for older Shimano spares? I need a R/H axle for a PD-M959 pedal, LBS drew a blank finding one.

Petra Cycles is the best place I've found, I got a left hand cone for an older XTR hub from them, reasonable prices and quick delivery.

Take a copy of the tech docs to any LBS who has an account with Madison, and they should be able to get any part or give a lead time if it is still avaliable.

Have a feeling though that if you can get one, it will probably be cheaper to buy a new pedal

Thanks jimc, been using that doc for reference too. I could use a cheaper pedal axle from the PD-M540, as they are about the same design. Could i live with the difference? probably, but wouldn't like it!

Henry Burton in Stafford stock a fine array of classic Shimano bits.
I thought I was buying Deore 32 and 22 rings. When I got it home, I found the 22 was STX/RC. Nowt wrong with it though. They have an XT shark fin chainstay protector in the window too.

IIRC Madison only stock Shimano parts for up to 7 years, if they're older than that good luck!

Any shop with an account should be able to order you the part you require as long as Madison keep it. If Madison don't keep it then your in trouble.....

Ayup fella I've got a rh 959 pedal sitting in the garage doing nothing. Lh side jammed in a crankset and the hexbolt axle was damaged trying to get it out. Pedal is well used but its spins smooth without play. Dunno what its worth but if its any use you can have it for a fiver plus a couple of quid postage.

UK Bikestore was able to order an M540 axle assembly a couple of years ago for me.
