Should there be an age limit for people to ride off road, say over 42, as today there seemed to quite a few a lot older,a the older you get the more fragile you become and thus put a bigger strain on the soon to be privatised NHS,that we will all be forced to pay into.
You should have to be 30 before you are allowed to go off-road on a bicycle as A&E seems to be full of young boys who have gone faster than their limited skills allow.
Yep, get rid of older people offroad. Look at them! Stupid old duffers. Most of them are so confused they don't even know where they're going.
While we're banning them, I would suggest we also ban anyone under the age of 30 from driving a car, they are after all responsible for virtually all road accidents.

Oi sonny – I know where I'm going. It's just that it takes me longer to get there!
The thing is older people do not have any sort of fashion sence,or colour coordination, look at walkers, also they tend to be a bit on the fat and heavy side,so erode the trails a bit faster.
Cant see how there can be a ban, perhaps just realignment of their cycling, perhaps dedicated trails at trails centres,eg a grey trail.
Step aside Small Fry. Some of us were off-roading in the 50's & 60's and learnt how to ride properly on bikes made from bits from the local tip. We developed skills that would scare the s**t out of you, then when we busted the bike my Bro just built another one. AND I'm still going strong! Just slowed down a bit and making time to listen to the trees growing along the way. Probably at our age we have also worked our asses off to afford some decent kit now without busting the piggy bank.
Have you not realised the Surgeries are geting taken over by private companies, Pfi are building the new hospitals and surgeries, there are new private treatment centres coming into use, and choose and book is now available,so you can choose which hospital does your operation thus making them like the local supermarkets, all ready to be bought out by the insurance companies etc.
As above, 55 years old. 100 plus miles per week,Off road and on road and can still average 16 to 18 mph average for 50 + miles on the road bike.
Any takers ?
We'd need some sort of test to determine how old someone was. I mean, anyone can say they're young. I know, we can give people a spelling and punctuation test. If they fail then they're under 42. Brilliant!
When I started to take MTBing a wee bit more seriously in the mid-nineties, I was really impressed when bumping into these surprisingly fit older guys riding my local trails.
High end bike, serious-looking kit, lean leg muscles, and the grey beard or moustache- y'know, the Ned Overend look.
I thought what a great sport to be involved in, that lets folk stay that fit and scary-looking for so long.
Project, are you Martian or just on glue (or some other mind bending influence) Now you could either A, think about going for a proper ride with some 'experienced' riders, or B, go to bed cos I think it's past your bed time.
Project, I was thirty-four when I bought my first mountain bike. That was in 1988, before most people evenknew what a mountain bike even ****' was, and a long time before you were even born, little boy, so don't tell me what age I should be to ride a ****' bike anywhere I damn well choose. Now get off to bed, your mummy will ground you if she finds out you're up playing on her computer.
Talkemada, that guy in the picture looks EXACTLY like the kind of dude that I would expect to be say, slaggin' off posties on internet forums.
That cannie be druidh, can it? 😕
