Does anyone know of a pc game that is like an adventure role playing game but is not easy.

Swmbo managed to play Treasure seekers in one week.

Isn’t Treasure Seekers a kids game?

And yes Oblivion IV and Fallout 3 or wait for Fallout 3 New Vegas.

If you include point & click adventures, Sam & Max is fun.

Oh, for more a actiony style (eg, Diablo) – have a look at Torchlight on Steam. Again, free demo.

As for getting out more Scott swmbo (the wife) who is a she not a HE, rides every morning rain or shine 14 miles with her daughter on the mountain bikes.

She likes puzzle games rather than the Oblivion ilk.
It just to keep the mind ticking over in the evening trying to solve riddles and puzzles.
Treasure seekers part 1 was a bit too easy for her.
But she is playing part 2 on advanced but it looks like she will complete that pretty soon.

I like SafeCracker. Not exactly role-playing, but makes you think!

    Sam & Max, then. ^^

Lots and lots of classic games available for very little money on Steam and suchlike now, the Monkey Island series for instance.

Are text adventures likely to float her boat? Violet is a nice introduction, review and download links here.

Myst was a good game, quite impossible. You get put on a island and you have to try and get off by solving lots of puzzles. I had Myst IV played it once, gave up after that.
