  • Off the peg 650b non boost "normal" QR wheelset – what's good?

    Got a project brewing.

Looking for a pair of the above rather than having a set built.

Looking at using a 2″ max tyre so XC fodder rather than anything gnarly.

Not looking to spend a fortune but would like something lightish and a moon on a stick!

    All suggestions welcome 8)

I’ve been running Wide Lightning for a year now and love them, they very reliable, tubeless up well and so far as hard as nails. The do a narrower rimmed version now. Also there always seems to be a deal available somewhere from American Classic!!

    Budget?
DT Swiss XR 1501’s ( old model admittedly) are £450 at JE James. They are light and robust and should come with QR adaptors front and rear as well as 142 at the rear

I’m sure someone here bought a set of those Vittoria Creed from DFS earlier this year, currently 99 squids.
