    Belt drive SS cross bike.

Anyone gote one or is it not niche enough? 😉

    Who actually makes one?

I have a belt drive on a Pompino – does that count?

How did you get the belt through the frame?

The only one I can see is Spot Brand and I can’t see an easy or affordable way to get my hands on one of those…

oddjob, that would only be niche if it was also bamboo… 😀

As soon as it has been mentioned on here, it ceases to be niche.

The frightening thing is that bamboo is just too mainstream these days 😉

    Easy. Hacksaw 🙂

I think I have posted the details of the conversion on here somewhere.

Yep! Although now you mention it, belt-drive hub-gear pompino, that’s a nice bike. But, it doesn’t solve my ordinary cable end woes.

No detail too small to be ignored 🙂

Your bike shop can get them for you. You get a bottle full of multicoloured cable ends.

I like to limit my projects to man in a shed type with hand tools stuff. It’s much more satisfying – and it’s boring when you take it to someone else to do.

You must have been sweating a bit as you were running out of the track end to get the belt tight !

A slightly larger rear cog fixed that 🙂

That setup never moved in use though – one advantage of Sturmey-Archer hubs is the extremely tough axles and nuts so I was able to clamp it down hard.
