    Not really sure what you mean – either topswing or conventional front mechs can be dual pull.

    ok – on my rockhopper it's a 34.9mm top swing mech.
    Will this work
    will this work as a replacement

    Yes – with the slight caveat that there is the odd frame that conventional mechs don't work on because bottle cages are in the way or because of funny external butting but I'm pretty sure that's not the case with Rockhoppers.
