Having discounted the USE Sumo (earlier thread from today), was wondering whether the Nukeproof Warhead was any good?

I had one on my Stumpy before it was nicked and it was great. No different to Thompson posts as far as I could tell.

They’re basically the same design as a Thomson, but the anodizing isn’t as good and the decals/eching comes off (the yellow logo will come off as soon as you take it out of the packaging). I have one on my HT and Thomson on the rest of my bikes, I wouldn’t go nuke-proof again just to save £20. Nothing seriously wrong with them, just a bit of creaking that I’ve never had with Thomson and not the same quality.

If budget is a big issue, then certainly worth considering.

I’ve used a Warhead post for the last 5 months on my winter hardtail, no problems at all despite the mud, grit etc. Personally I can’t find any shortfall in quality compared with Thomson, Hope etc. The Warhead also has the added bonus of height markings.
