  • Nukeproof Plasma Saddle: comfy?

I need a new saddle for my trail bike (Nukeproof Mega). I’ve currently got a SDG Bel Air, which I find pretty comfy, perhaps a touch wide at the tail.

Does anyone have any experience of the Nukeproof saddles and in particular how it compares in “fit” to the Bel Air?

    Thanks.

Mate of mine uses them, says comfier than his iFly on the other bike but not as comfy as his old Bel Air. Felt fine to me but it’s pretty small, feels a lot like the Pro I have on my dh bike in fact, but the shape’s really nice. (I don’t like Belairs fwiw, too big and shaped for me)

CRC also have the Ragley Cheeky Ti in their sale, that’s a good saddle too and much the same price.

I had a bel air and swapped to a nukeproof plasma. Also on my own mega. I would stay wih the bel air. It was comfier. The new nukeproof saddle comes in two types though. A dh light/strong or a comfy trail seat. Don’t know if that would be better.

I’ve got one from a scalp that was on my am bike but it was far too hard for my liking, very similar to the ifly. Swapped it out for a charge spoon that was on my other bike.

Thanks for the replies. Food for thought, perhaps I should stick with Bel Air…

I hadn’t spotted the “trail” options which are pretty light still. Unfortunately they’re quite vibrant.

I also found the Bel Air a touch wide, the Aliso is thinner and for me, more comfortable. It’s also dirt cheap over on Wiggle…

I’m also considering a Nukeproof saddle, but I’m confused by stated weights.

The Trail saddle is said to weigh 230 (225 ?) grams:

The slimmed-down Race saddle is said to weigh more, 239 g–that’s nonsense considering it’s slimmer profile!

Is this an error? Because of this I’m unsure of other specs as well..

Declared sizes are the same (275 mm x 132 mm), but is this true? From pictures I’d say the Trail version is wider, but perhaps it’s just an impression?
