I’m staying on the Solway Firth coast next week, and will be taking bikes.
I’ll be taking a 12 year old, so nothing too epic- any advice on where to go?
I’m planning on popping up to Scotland too, so any suggestions for Southern Scotland would be good too.

Mabie is a good trail centre. Not far from where you will be.

Whinlatter Blue is very good for kids. If he’s reasonable on a bike he could probably manage the reds OK there too.

Whinlatter red south is very fun now they’ve re-done it all. I live right on the Solway and that’s our usual haunt but it’s about a 40 minute drive. There’s nothing that your 12 year old can’t ride slower across and not jump.
