How dumb an idea is this? Have access to a cheap deal on either fork – they’d be too long for a roadrat on skinny 700c tyres, right?

490 when they should be 440? Not a good idea!

Niners are 470, but still, it’s a lot. I’ve got a feeling roadrats use a shorter than 440 fork as well.

waaaay to long as the other have pointed out. Think the smallest you can get in the exotic is about 420mm. I did see some Boardman carbon forks on ebay the other day which I think were off a commuter so had disc mounts. On the right side too unlike the road rat so remember to swap your disc round to the right way.

I have a scandal 29er that is looking for some carbon forks though 😉

I’m still after the niner forks if there’s any going cheap

I rode a Roadrat with a Pace RC31 short carbon fork (I guess it was the 420mm one) It was nice and lightened the front end up considerably!
