Does anyone have any experience of these, photos or example builds and weights?

I had one of the older ones. The frame is very light, and built onto Niner carbon forks, crest wheels, and 1×9 XTR gearing, made for a crazy lightweight bike – somewhere around the 8.5kg mark. I’ll dig a few photo’s out later.

I have one of the 2011 frames built with the carbon forks and it’s a quality bike.

Actually very good fun and quite compact for a 29er. Apart from the frame and forks it’s a budget build but it’s still light.

Are carbon forks a good option? I want a fast, trail bike for my less challenging local loops but don’t fancy getting beaten up on every ride.

I did feel beat up on longer Peak District rides, hence changed for a Stanton Sherpa with 100mm forks. Definitely not as fast as the Niner, but overall a more fun bike.

I had one of the old ones – sadly it got pinched.

Great bike – built up light and really rather well. It was great around the Peak, the only bit I didn’t like was the noodly feeling Reba’s (bolt through and stiffer wheel needed). It was rigid as well – needed some big, flexible tyres and a nice twangy seatpost and then it was ace. I would still have it, should it not have been nicked.

I had one in 2010 in the grey. I kitted it out with DT Swiss carbon forks and xt and Easton ec70 bats and ec90 post and Kcnc stuff was scary light. The wheels I built were crest rims and circus monkey hubs built with DT revs and red nips. Handled great and perfect for racing at thetford and mayhem but you did feel it on very long technical lumpy bumpy trails though or dust til dawn at thetford you would get thetford back a local condition caused by trails filled with weekend warrior last minute braking dips (I’m honestly not bitter about it but it used to be so nice there).
