I am thinking I would like a new watch but I really do not know what to go for.

    I want a outdoor/biking watch with a few features. Maybe a GPS/compass

Maybe a Sunnto or a G-shock type what can you advise I go for?

    Thanks

    Pete

good point, around £100 – £150+ but would save up for the right one, but nothing crazy as intend not to worry about scratching it etc.

Had a few Suunto’s but TBH I prefer Casio Protrek’s, more user friendly and like the fact that they don’t need batteries.

Also had a Timex Expedition WS4 which was big but great to have all the info on one screen, can be had for £100 on eBay too.

I’m without an outdoor watch until the wife gets me one for my birthday next month and I’ll probably get another Protrek.

Just got a new G shock (Casio GW-6900-1ER). Solar powered and radio controlled, i’m impressed with it.

radio controlled? What? Why? If you leave it in the bathroom?

day to day I wear a metal gshock, if i go big hills or skiing I have a protrek, but the protrek is now pretty defunct as the iphone does most things it does better

Radio controlled means it gets a time signal from the atomic clock or something like that.

time signal from the atomic clock or something like that.

    Doesn’t that give you leukaemia?

got a metal g-shock – water (and beer) proof – tested to a depth of a pint glass; shock proof – tested by whacking it off a marble topped bar after rescueing it from the pint glass, some damage to case and bar, watch still works, probably won’t do that again; radio controlled, yes it gets a time signal from the Atomic Clock, look modern technology isn’t it great

has a blue light that knows when i’m looking at it – in the dark move wrist to looking-at-watch position, cool blue led comes on
alarms, stopwatch, world time and loads of other pretty dull stuff.
around £100, look for casio atomic tough solar (oh yeah, solar powered as well)
