I found my stock tyres aren’t quite grippy enough IMO, they could be better. Any suggestions?

    what are the existing tyres.

what size tyres do you want

what rims are they going on (width mainly)

what sort of riding do you do

what sort of geology are you riding over

    what’s your budget.

Specialized Fast Trak LK Sport, 26×2.0.

Just general MTBing, nothing extreme but I want to stick to the track, Chiltern hills is mainly where I’ll be riding and my budget, £30/tyre~.

I find Intense System 5’s to be a great allround tyres – the new tubeless ready construction is good too.

I use WTB, because they’re great. And I’m great.

I use Bontrager XR4 Team Issue (both 2.35 and 2.2) all the time for everything. Cotic Soul and ride Lakes, Peak, Cannock Chase etc.

I had nobby nics when I got my bike but I’ve moved to maxis ignitors and
Love them!! Fast grippy and light!!!

If you want to stick with Specialized tyres the 2.0″ Captains are a good all round tyre. More nobbly than the FastTrak but fast rolling enough to be good over the summer. Good value as well, less then £30 each for the control version.

Quite impressed with black chili conti mountain kings as a riding around tyre. Generally I stick to endless permutations of maxxis but I am – apparently – a tyre tart.

I recently got a single ply Maxxis High Roller super tacky for the front of my hard tail, and I think it’s ace 🙂 Proper grippy.

High Rollers front and rear will suit most things fine.
