im not new to mountain biking how ever i am rather green when it comes to full sus. iv been looking at what i thought was a broad range of bikes and was wondering if anyone out there could share their thought or experiences with any of these bikes?
    iv been looking at…
santa cruz: blur & super lite
    Specialised: enduro
    Trek: fuel

thats about it for what iv been looking at, im not sure what the difference is between these bikes or if one is more xc and another is geared more for the down hill.

let me know your thoughts and if there are any other recommendations is should be checking out

    cheers!

they are all great bikes. Maybe you should look from the point of what type of riding you do and go from there…

You really need to start getting some demo rides in.

Ride the Blur and the Superlight and decide which suits you and your riding more. Then start looking at bikes similar in weight and travel and go from there.

Those bikes listed are quite varied, Enduro burly and heavier, then Blur, then Fuel, then Superlight.

yeah there was a time i fancied myself as a downhiller but realistically these days its more xc that i get the opportunity to ride so maybe ill start trying some demos on the lighter bikes first

As Gary said go out and try a few bikes and see what suits your type of riding.

i also quite like GT bikes but know nothing of their full sus range, are there any other bikes that are worth checking out other than the ones above??

There's 2 types a Fuel, the Top Fuel is the 4" travel lighter way, more racey model, whilst the Fuel EX is a 5" more trail biased bike. Both very good, I've got a Top Fuel and I love it.

The Trek Remedy is more of a competitor to the Specialized Enduro. The Trek Fuel EX is more equivalent to the Specialized Stumpjumper. Go and ride as many bikes as you can (And ride them properly for at least an hour or so on some good trails). I test rode lots of bikes last year when my Commencal Meta got stolen and it enabled me to make a much more informed choice about what to get. I ended up with a '09 Trek Remedy fwiw.
