Looking for a new 5 arm 94 bcd chainring. Charlie The Bikemonger has alloy Salsa ones or steel Surly ones. Anybody tried the Salsa? I'm presuming the Surly will be longer lasting.

I love my salsa ring, I have hammered it hard and it still keeps trucking.
Wouldn't hesitate to buy another when needed.

Got a Surly on mine and it has lasted ages, well worth the extra cash

if the weight doesn't bother you it's a no brainer IMO the Surly steel badass would win every time.
