    Looking at getting a more trainer style shoe that can be used with flats but still retaining spd ability for all day xc epics?

    Prefer a chunky tread not waffle so I can get grip if walking with bike

    Does such a thing exist? Seen the Shimano MT71 and AM45 that look promising but the fit of shimano MW 81 winterboots and MO88 shoes are laughable – they are just oblong!

    anyone use them or similar?

    You will end up compromising on grip severely when using flat pedals, and the cleats with rub on the pedal body…

    Just buy 2 pairs of shoes.

    Not sure they exist. Grab some Five 10s and some regular SPDs.
