  • New road frame. What are my options?

Seemingly, the frame that I want is a moon on a stick jobby.

Preferably steel (Or Al) with thin tubes and a horizontal top tube.

Want something like this but modern –

Robin Mathers Rapha bike is ideal, but not got the benk for custom 🙁

Any frames out there that tick the boxes?

A Felt F1430 looks OK, but I only need the frame.

The De Rosa Neo Primato’s look nice if you haven’t got Colnago Master money, still not cheap though… http://www.wiggle.co.uk/de-rosa-neo-primato-frame-and-fork-2013/

I like that Singular. A carbon fork would spoil it though.

I actually have a Day One and love it, would have an Equilibrium but don’t like it in its ginger incarnation.

    Or Condor Acciaio.
You’ll have to figure out how to pronounce it yourself 🙂

It’s a shame they don’t offer it in a few different colours.

2nd hand and spend the change on getting it powdercoated.

Arriving January, Reynolds 725 goodness. Slight slope on top tube mind you but not much.

Also maybe consider a Surly Pacer?

This is assuming that 1 1/8″ threadless is ok and you don’t want to be restricted to 1″ threaded like the frame you posted.

    I would have had one…if there was a 60cm 🙁

That sarto looks alrite, its got fat tubes which is a good thing I think. Dunno about the headset and bb shell though.

I really like Ribbles’ cheap and cheerful number, and I don’t like old school bikes…

    Ribble….

That Sarto frame is £100 more expensive in my size 🙁

I’d personally go for a Brian Rouke.
Friend of mine had one built last year & it’s stunning. Built to 18lb (I think), not bad for a steel bike & didn’t go too bad with the spec.

I had much the same brief, and there is very little around. Something classic, with style and happy on a 100 miler.

The first ritchey logic road frames arrive this week… So I will have a 59cm demo built up shortly, probably within an hour of it arriving. They are £900 inc carbon fork and headset.
