After having the contents of my garage burgled, the insurance company have said i can choose a bike to £450 to replace my Langster. I don't want another Langster and was thinking about an MTB to do my commuting on. The bike is through wheelies so its either a Giant, Scott, Spesh or Cannondale. Anyone have any opinion they'd like to share on choosing something from this price bracket from these manufacturers? Leaning towards a Hardrock at the mo, but also quite keen on the Dale Trail F6…

A Hardrock's a decent frame, and if you wanted to start using it for more gnarly stuff, you could upgrade the forks at a later date.

The trail F6 is nice, but I would be wanting discs at that price point..

are you actually going to ride it or let it collect dust like the Langster, a pink shopper with a basket would match your riding style
