   Not the most exciting topic for a Sunday morning but I need a new 'carry-on' case.

   I travel with work most weeks and try to get everything into carry-on luggage. My current case is a Titan. It was their bottom of the range one (think the equivalent is now the Arizona) and has done fine for the last couple of years but it's past its best now and needs replacing.

   I like the look of some of the more expensive cases but I can't think of a reason to spend £200 on a suitcase when I can spend £50 on one and £150 on shiny bike bits. Having said that, I quite like the look of the Antler Duolite (~£75) - recent Which 'Best Buy' winner?

   Any recommendations?
   (other than finding something more exciting to do on a Sunday morning)

   Have you looked at the sub0 ones?? I have one and it's super light and pretty durable.

   I'm travelling with work every week too... and looked at a Samsonite Pro DLX 3 in Frankfurt airport shop last Weds.

   Being pretty picky, this thing fitted my needs exactly - not too large (I don't need more than 2-3 nights' clean shirts/pants/socks etc), very good wheels (larger diameter than most - important so it doesn't get those annoying little stones/gravel stuck in them), very 'wheel-able' if you know what I mean, with a well-made, sturdy collapsible handle, and also has excellent business storage pockets (papers, laptop etc).

   At the airport shop it was £250 - found it online here for £129(!)

   I've been using Samsonite cases for years and have always highly rated them. Last year my Mrs got a New "Eminent" case from John Lewis. On first impressions I thought it looked a bit poor compared to my Samsonite case but thought I might try it on my regular 2 day trip to Dusseldorf.

   To be honest I never use my Samsonite case now and always borrow hers. The case seems lighter, is more comfortable to carry with top handle and it seems to be like a Tardis for space, the Samsonite case always seems to get full qucikly. Also the front pocket is so tight on the Sam that you could only get a newspaper or magazine in whereas the other cases flap is extendable and flexible that on recent trip I could fit two bottles of curry ketchup from the airport shop.

   Case also has zip round middle to make bigger if extra capacity needed.

   I like the look of that one Digger but I'm after a 55cm one. I take running stuff with me and work (mostly) in Sweden so have to take winter (bulky) stuff with me.

    I fly every week and have given up on pull alongs. Now using a Lowe Alpine TT40.

    I only ever take 1 bag (not 1 bag plus a laptop bag) so I can compress the sides of the Lowe and just use it to carry my laptop about during the week and then pack gym kit, 4 shirts, undies + all the other rubbish I seem to carry at the end of the week.

    I thought the very same thing!!

    Sorry can't help much with the case question, only place I have ever bought that sort of stuff is from shops @ Cheshire Oaks

    I use a dakine cabin roller, nicely made ,and heavy enough to inflict damage when thrown across the counter at a check in assistant when they dare enquire to it's weight.

    I need a new case and went looking at the weekend.
    Sub0 were on the list but were crossed off as soon as I had a close look at one .
    they are only a little lighter than the Samsonite B-lite but the B-lites are far better quality.
    Having said that, they are far cheaper.

    Ended up with a B-lite for £120 from John lewis.

    I use one of these when travelling with work. Paid more than this too! Fits on as handluggage on Easyjet (Normally the smallest allowance), so it's small enough.

    Oliver and Derek.....

    I missed your recommendations about the Dakine one, then independently found this and ressurected the thread to ask about it. Specfically, I can't get any pics of the inside but want to know if it has a zip-up bit in the the lids to keep a folded shirt tidy. I don't imagine this is top of Dakine's priorities but it is for me.

    Anyone know for sure?

    I know that it's not got the brand image, but.... the best cabin case I've ever had came from IKEA. Got the dividers etc and has a really robust construction. I used to live out of mine for four years. People actually came up to me and asked where they could get one. Think they still do them and it was dirt cheap. Worth a punt IMO.

    Find out if there's a samsonite factory store near you, got a few from the one in Cheshire Oaks at big discounts (mostly just unpopular colours ie not black or silver but makes spotting it at the carousel much easier) full warranty which I've needed to use a couple of times and they've always been great.

    I'm really fussy with luggage because I've travelled so much so always get a hard case with a sealing gasket and definitely locking clips not zips they fall apart after a few months. Samsonite best of the main stream IMHO but Delsey also very good but slightly less baggage handler proof.

    Or if you're feeling a bit more flush get a Haliburton Zero, the original one that the good Rimowas copied my cabin bag is one of their 20" jobs in alloy, be prepared to be hugely pissed off first time it gets checked in as the beautiful alu case will be scratched and dented but now I think it looks really cool, just dropped my mrs off at T5 with it on her way to DC. Or if you win the lottery they do it in carbon fibre, unfortunately they start at about $2k...

    Who are you flying with determines the size of case!
    I use one of these on easyjet tried Samsonite Xblade but found the
    bargain Linea had a stronger retractable handle and the wheeled
    area and wheels to be stronger.

    Sorry to crash the party but I need the following:- a 4 wheel cabin suitcase. It needs to be soft with an external pocket and the zip must open both sides from the top. They all seem to have the non opening bit on one side.
    I like to be able to open it just a bit to get stuff out.
